Pinnacle PCTV card / Win2K
 

Has anyone got the above combination of hardware?

I was unfortunate to purchase said card made by Pinnacle before checking Google, which appears to be littered with unhappy customers.

Basically, it's installed in a self-made PC - P4, 256MB, loads of HDD space, Win 2K and on-board sound. Driver loaded normally, program runs ok, channels are detected, but...no sound is produced 'xcept for constant white noise. Tried to change all parms in the software etc to no avail.

Strange thing is sound works ok otherwise - i.e. CDs, games etc.

So...I guess it's the card software or the card itself but have hit a brick wall so far in terms of finding a solution on the net, except that Pinnacle has an updated version of the software (from version 5 to 5.5) - will try that soon but thought I might cover all bases by applying some ppruning to the issue.. :ok:

Any ideas, anyone?
