ISDN-capable ISP
I'm looking for a basic, no-frills, ISP providing 128k ISDN access. Cost is the main factor, but the ISP has to be reasonably reliable in terms of access. I only need 80 hrs a month or so, as I've got an intelligent ISDN router which brings the line up and down as required.
I don't need web space, email addresses or anything else. Just connection to the Internet, and perhaps one static IP address. Also, if ADSL ever makes it to the boonies here in rural Wiltshire, I'll want an easy upgrade path, and the same ISP would help but this isn't essential. I've had a look, and got a few names. Anyone else out there got any experience ? |
Nr,
I used to use UKOnline on an 0845 number a couple of years ago when I had Highway - simply because they were the only ISP I could find tht supported channel bonding with no sign up etc. I checked and they no longer support single or dual ISDN. A quick trawl, I know you've already done this, came up with ; gconnect.net easynet.co.uk giointernet.com actionisp.co.uk Can't say I've experience of any of them but actionisp looked as if they may have a package suitable for your needs. I didn't find any great performance increase when bonding channels but then I wasn't using a true router. There's always satellite Broadband if your wallet's big enough ! Article currently on BBC website re. rural Broadband access ; http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2856321.stm Good Luck |
Netscalibur are very reliable though perhaps not the cheapest - worth giving them a call even if what you require is not on their site, they can tailor things for your needs.
