Helpwanted- dead computer
 

A merry Christmas to one and all

BUT - help needed.

My daughter's 'emachine' is playing up.
Or not - in fact it's doing virtually nothing.

Power on, the fans start, one on the power supply unit, one on the CPU cooling fins.

Next the A drive and the D drive (DVD) mutter gently to themselves for a couple of seconds -

Then the C drive - hard disk - makes its usual few scratching noises and then
a big fat nothing....

Nothing at all appears on the monitor apart from plain blue (which is what it shows when its disconnected from the computer anyway)

Sorry I can't tell you details of all the components - there's no documentation,

So - please can pprune help me to impress the family this Christmas and provide a clue..please..
