Bubble memory
What is bubble memory? Is it
a. A magnetic disk b. A magnetic core c. Loops of magnetic materiel? |
It was a solid state device where regions of magnetization were constantly being moved through the device rather like you did in CCDs (nowadays used for digital cameras I think). You waited until your data came pass the "read head" and then read it off. It was however non-volatile. Switch the power off and your data stays in place.
