Pprune screams at me again
When I get to the website, I get that strangulated scream. It started happening some months ago, then someone killed it. Now it's back again.
Can I stop it on my machine, or do the Pprune administartors have to do it - or is it unstoppable for some reason? |
Me too. It happens once only and on all three of the PCs I use to access PPRuNe. Mildy annoying as it's only once and I haven't bothered to complain. I should have done, I suppose.
|
Et moi aussi. Hasn't done it for a while though. Must have died.
|
Did it again to me this evening. Scared the life out of me!
|
Yeah - Poxy advert again.. Also getting fed up with Yellow!
I thought we were going to be able to control colour scheme on this new software.. would please me. |
Happened to me last night - which advert is it ???
|
It's the blasted MSN advert.
|
To the Moderators,
Can't we get rid of these noises- permanently? How have they come about- we want a silent Pprune- Pleeese! |
Couldn't agree more. The scream is rather upsetting and reminds me of some things I do not really wish to remember.
How can it be removed, other than switching off the speakers? It does not manifest itself every time I log onto PPrune and has happened about five times this last week. If it is an advert, would somebody kindly take steps to get shot of it, - please. |
Don't forget to send an email to MSN explaining how their intrusive ad has been instrumental in your decision to not use, or recommend, any MSN product...
|
Very irritating
Please stop it.
Regards Exeng |
Is it really from the MSN advert? Their marketing people must be real waaankers if they think it could be anything other than incredibly furking irritating .
|
That damn thing has just caused me most immense embarrassment! Mrs G was sat next to me using the phone on my deck for an EXTREMELY important and sensitive phone call when I logged onto PPRuNe. . . . . . the rest, you can imagine. . . . . :o  :o
Please, PLEASE, PLEASE, moderators can we lose this ad or at least silence the wretched thing once and for all? |
I know it's not really a proper solution, and in an ideal world advertisers wouldn't stoop to such tactics, but why not just turn your speakers off?
I don't even bother to switch my speakers on unless I specifically want to listen to some media clip or other - the rest of the time, I'm listening to music (from a proper stereo, obviously) and don't want annoying beeps and twangs every time a dialog box pops up. Try it for a while - you'll probably find you don't miss the sound at all. "Multimedia" - pah! Who needs it? :) cbl. |
CB,
I know what you're saying, but having recently invested in a rather sexy pair of Bose Multimedia Speakers, I quite like listening to music whilst PPRuNing. The gentle 'bings and bongs of windows', I can cope with (and are strangely comforting in an odd sort of way - God, I need help!!! :D ;) :D ;) ), but the screams are another matter entirely. . . . . Besides, turning off the speakers seems, to me, a bit like changing your car 'cos the ashtray is full up  :( :( |
Surely the Boss or the web managers get to view the content of an ad before it placed?
I m sure Danny must have made 'our' feelings know to them so how do they get through the 'net'? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get rid of it ASAP. |
A similar thread is going on over in Jet Blast which includes a response from Danny. See Fecking sounds are back
