Hotmail Users - Caution
 

After a tip from a friend, once in Hotmail I have just clicked Options/Personal Profile and found that the "Share e-mail address" and "Share other registration information" have mysteriously become ticked without me actioning the change. I unchecked these and then couldn't cancel the screen without typing in my postcode. After a couple of tries I found that a short word in uppercase other than my postcode was accepted. Hotmail users who want to share the minimum info with the www via Hotmail may care to check their own profiles.

Also worth looking at the 'Hotmail Member Directory' page, shown in 'Options', immediately below 'Personal Profile'. The default setting is to have members listed, but you can uncheck the box if you wish to opt out.
