Weather station connection problem
I have a Maplin N96GY (rebadged Fine Offset WH1081) weather station. It has a console which receives readings from outside sensors and which connects by USB to my laptop which identifies it as a Human Interface Device (HID). I run Easyweather software which recognises the device and automatically downloads the readings into a Microsoft Access database. This has been working correctly for 10 years on a succession of Windows versions, currently Windows 10. Note that no special drivers were required and the console is not identified by name.
I have bought a new Windows 11 laptop and installed Easyweather and Access. When the console is connected to the new laptop it is recognised as an HID by the system but Easyweather does not see the connection. There does not appear to be anything wrong with the console or the USB cable as it still works fine on the Windows 10 laptop. I wonder if anyone has any advice on how to enable the connection in Windows 11. |
I don't know if it is still working, but it would appear that the developers are answering questions here: https://easyweather.software.informer.com/ Have you tried any contact links from the software or the help documentation? I do not have any experience with this software, can't help you I'm afraid.

The Fine Offset WH1081 documentation states that the Easyweather software needs to be installed as Administrator - have you tried that?
See if there are updated drivers from Maplin / Fine Offset for Windows 11 You might also need to check if Easyweather needs Windows FW exclusions Generic USB device problems |
