Help! Problem seeing YouTube...
 

Bit of an odd one - when I'm in YouTube, I'm now only seeing the video itself, not any of the video info or comments underneath, or live comments on a live stream (or suggested videos) on the right hand panel. Everything in the window other than the video is white. I can briefly see place holders. I've emptied cache, deleted the cookies and been through the settings - nothing seems to make any difference, can't see anything that would change what the page shows....

However if I use my other Youtube channel i/d, all is fine. Logged into my old laptop, exactly the same problem. So it's obviously a problem with my account settings...

It was fine until yesterday evening. What did I press? Anyone got any ideas please? Windows 11 and Chrome...

Have you tried another browser? Could it be related to anything that has been added to Chrome?

Do you have more that one Google account? eg. One for email and a different one for youtube.

I do, and I think this has been the cause of messing up youtube for me in the past, though not in the way you're seeing.

Jhieminga good idea, tried it in Edge, exactly the same problem - main account has the problem, sub account doesn't...
netstruggler I just have a single Google and YouTube account...

Oddly enough I was able to see the live chat OK on the Flyer Livestream using my main account last night but only AFTER watching a David Gilmour short (I tried this three or four times - open the livestream, nothing, click on DG - which showed likes, etc, - then go back to Livestream, there we go...) - but only the chat, video details, likes and so on were missing. All works fine on mobile phone, both in Chrome and the app.

There was an issue a few weeks ago where the Youtube Interface had been rearranged - it took some fathoming out and everything resolved itself eventually - I know not how...

Cheers chaps, I'll see what happens. I hate all the settings as you seem to go round and round... who programs this stuff?

Quick update - just been on YouTube again and videos seen under my main channel i/d are now showing as the problem above from a few weeks ago - video info and comments are displaying in a panel to the right of each clip and suggested videos are below - so it has partially resolved itself but I wonder why it has changed. My secondary i/d continues to show the page layout as nature intended. Very strange...
