Iphone Sent Ghost SMS Message
 

This morning a friend called my Iphone 4s (ringer on silent/vibrate) and left a message.
Moments later she got an SMS from my phone saying "I'm on my way".
The messages app confirms this was sent. I did not send it - my glasses were in another room and I could not have composed a text without them, besides, I was soundo!

How did this happen?

So did your wife g/f accept this excuse:E

I was fast asleep with the phone on my bedside table!
An iphone 4 has no auto sms for unanswered calls - at least, mine hasn't.

Settings ->> Phone ->> Respond with Text

Strewth! So there is a facility to do this.. But...

I have 500% never seen this before.5
I have 200% never changed it's settings.

I have 500% never set this up.

I have had the phone for 4 years and it has never done this before

I have now tried and can still not change it's settings or even do anything with it at all - this feature seems completely unresponsive and can't even see if it is operational.

Whaaaat????

"Phone" is about two screens down in the Settings menu
