inserting a gif in a MS Word doc
Aaarrrgggghhhh, it is driving me crazy!
How do you insert an animated gif file into a word document? Take rolleyes  for example. How would you insert it in a word document without losing the animation? (Just wasted the last 30 minutes trying to figure it out) 7 7 7 7 |
Not sure if this will help, but here goes!
I assume you have saved the 'gif' you are trying to insert into the document? Go to the 'Insert' tab and down to the 'picture' tab, it should open a sub folder containing 'From File', 'From ClipArt' etc..., chose, from file. Then find the file the gif is in, and open or 'attach' it, and your gif should be in your Doc! Good luck :) GG |
My tome on MS Word 6 describes this as creating an OLE link:
1. Open the source application and copy the text, graphics or other material into the clipboard. 2. Switch to W f W. 3. Place your insertion point where you want the information to be located and select Paste Special from the Edit menu. 4. Select Paste Link from the Paste Special dialog box to establish the link. 5. If you have a choice, select the application that you want the linked object to be connected with, in the As box. This, apparently, establishes the link and ensures that it updates if any changes are made subsequently. Hope it helps. |
Using word 2002 this is from the help file
"I edited an animated GIF, and now the animation is gone. Certain types of edits, such as cropping or grouping, will cause an animated GIF picture to be saved as a new picture and lose its animation. To preserve the animation, make the changes in an animated GIF editing program, and then insert the file again" Look like you will need a editing program to maintain the animation. Hope this points you in the right direction |
Yeah, sorry to say, on further investigation into my suggestion, it does not work :(
Sorry about that Regards GG |
