dell latitude
 

can anyone help ? i have a dell latitude p3 1GHZ laptop with DVD player fitted. does anyone know if it is possible to unlock the player so any region DVD can be used instead of the 3 changes u are allowed with it before it locks ?

I am no expert, but PROCEDE WITH CAUTION. I understand that there are dangers in going down this road, hence the profusion of cautions and disclaimers on websites associated with the subject. Having said that, I know of several people who have done this successfully and none that have not.

Personally, I am still contemplating taking the plunge with my own Dell; what a manufacturer inspired "con" this whole thing is! Good luck.

Check to see if the warranty would still cover it. Wouldn't think it should cause problems, but technically its probably illegal. :rolleyes:

GOOD POINT. Would almost certainly invalidate the warranty if you damaged the drive in the process.
