To all the resident PPRuNe Apple bashers, sitting on their bandwagon trying to blame Apple for the actions of people who should know better than to sit on their phones.....
Proof that Apple do extensive QA on their phones Inside the building where Apple tortures the iPhone 6 | The Verge So... will the resident Apple bashing trolls go back to their caves.... thank you. |
""As we add more and more features, we have to find out a way to break them before customers do." - they are right.......they have to.

.....only a percentage of women wearing jeans/trousers with pockets and the rest keeping them in their purses. |
Look - you can see from Mixture's link they are bending them BEFORE delivery!

Seems like there's more than one problem with the new iPhones.
The iPhone 6 Plus has at least one initially-hidden downside. I just got my iPhone 6 Plus, and I'm already thinking about returning it It seems like the makers of THIS iPhone 6 Plus critical accessory, are onto a winner ... |

Just shows he hadn't tried any of the other "large" phones, or he'd have known. If I buy an iPhone 6 (a very big "if"), it will be the standard size.
My 4S does all I need at the moment, including checking WiFi channel numbers when setting up local folks' systems to avoid channel clashes. (It has to be jailbroken to do that since a couple of years ago, when Apple decided users mustn't be allowed to see which channel a WiFi is on). It's known that I'm the "bloke in the village" who can do that, so I get plenty of cups of coffee, biscuits, and 5 minuteses with routers. Oh, and bottles of wine. |
I think part of the problem is how people value their money. If I spend 2-3 hundred dollars on something I take care of it. My Galaxy S5 is my first smartphone. Verizon blessed me with an OtterBox case as part of the deal. Being retired I no longer wear shirts with pockets so the phone goes in the front pants pocket. I would never think of putting it in my back pocket. I know what a new wallet looks like after a few weeks.

Why do people treat devices costing hundreds of dollars/pounds as though they were throwaway items?
Us pensioners don't do that. |
I blame Uri Geller, he'll be on the news soon claiming it was him who bent the phones.

Duck tape and a hammer are the basic required mancave tools. The iron does sometimes need to be borrowed from womancave.
BUT - A rolling Pin in a man cave? NEVER!!! |
A rolling Pin in a man cave?
Gave yourself away there, Ancient - you knew what it was ! Oh the shame.... |
Only 'cos he's been cracked over the head by one a few times.............
|
Er, right. I can remember my mother using one and doing her best to train me in how to use one.
|
In this age of recycling, a rolling pin is the perfect tool for punching out the metal bottom of a cardboard packaging tube like single malt Scotch whisky containers.

Now we have the gurus producing figures on exactly how much the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus cost Apple to make. About 20% of the regular retail price. Talk about bending over and handing them the Vaseline. :ooh:
How much an iPhone 6 actually costs to make |
Went to my phone carrier's retail shop today to pay a bill and asked them why are they all just standing around with nothing to do.
"We've run out of iPhone6's" was the reply. They are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. |
Bending problem solved

SPECIAL iPHONE TROUSERS will ease Apple into the fashion world ? The Register |
Seriously guys.... the joke is getting old.
How about we let this thread die. |
the joke is getting old. |
|
Welcome to my ignore list BOAC.
As I said, the joke's gone on long enough. As has been explained a million times, its not Apple's fault that people are clumsy and/or sit on their phones. The Register is notoriously Apple-bashing, so I would take anything they have to say on the topic of Apple with a significant pinch of salt. It takes over 30kg to bend an iPhone 6, which is only the sort of pressure that you can exert comfortably by sitting on the phone. Enough piss taking has been taken on this thread by the resident Apple bashers. Its time for to find another thing to take the piss out of because the Apple jokes are really just becoming tedious.... |
Could someone please thank mixture for his welcome?
|
I think we are done with this topic.
