Is Zone Alarm running?
 

I installed a new version of ZA a couple of weeks ago and all appeared normal but the last couple of days the Z does not appear on the taskbar.

'Run at startup' is ticked in the options, but I can't see it in either the Startup folder or the startup list in Config.

It's not in the 'hidden icons', so is it running or not?

Task Manager?

I would suggest a proper Shutdown of the computer (not "Restart"). Then power up again. As BOAC says, check Task Manager - if you can't see it in either the "Applications" or "Processes" tab, then it is clearly not running. Re-install, re-boot etc....

Oddly, it has started up normally today.
