Sharing web history
We just bought a new router and now my roommate is able to use his cell phone to see a log of the websites that are being used on all the devices in the house. I've never heard of this before but it seems like a bad idea. Anyone know how to block info from being shared? I'm using Windows 8 on my laptop if that helps.

It sounds like the router has some form of logging enabled, that your room-mate is accessing.
Realistically, there's no way to stop them doing so unless you prevent them from gaining access to the router - i.e. change the admin password and lock them out. SD |
Sounds like you need to have a house meeting.
If that doesn't pan out, then you might have to resort to a VPN or proxy server.I think that would mean that all sites logged would be the same from you on the router, but not sure about that. |
nongmai,
My money's on you being lazy and not setting up encryption on your WiFi. Turn on WPA2-PSK AES (with a proper, difficult password), turn on Client (or AP) Isolation if available (might be hidden away in some advanced settings screen somewhere), and then see if he can still sniff your data. |
If he's reading the logs then you can tell your room mate in no uncertain terms by visiting the following sites.
