MS dotnet updates AGAIN!

The curse I had with XP has now struck Win7. Repeated installs of dotnet updates, each one showing as 'successfully installed' previously. I have just been through the time-wasting rigmarole of uninstalling and reinstalling framework4 and I see I am far from alone.

Why can MS not get this right?

EDIT: -- and that seems to have sorted it - until the next time

Dot-Net Hell has replaced DLL Hell as the curse of Windows users. I have an old XP machine that eventually reached the point where every Dot-Net upgrade would fail and even uninstalling everything and starting from scratch wouldn't fix it.

The whole thing is an abomination.

Yes - I think I met you 'down under':) I had hoped with the move to Win7 I would be able to stay 'above ground'..........................
