Windows Update, why have things changed on my PC please?
On Tuesday morning, whilst I was on line, Windows instigated an automatic update, the PC shut down and rebooted itself.
Fine, that's what updates are for and what happens when they do. Then came the interesting bit. On this, and another site, all of a sudden, spelling errors were highlighted with the wiggly red line underneath. On this other site, the font size had suddenly been reduced. One day later, my password dropped out and I had to reset. This morning, the same thing on here. Coincidence, and I am not suggesting anything sinister here, or, a result of the update and, if so, why and what caused these changes please? Just curious as always as to what is happening and why. |
It sounds like your browser got updated.
Personally I prefer to have WUS tell me when updates are available, and I then go and select the ones that I require - it means I get to choose whether or not non-essential changes are made, like browser upgrades. SD |
S D,
My thanks for your explanation, which makes sense as to what happened. :ok: |
