Printer problem

I have an HP B209a psc. The printer has stopped printing in black, even though it has a newish blank ink tank installed. I have wiped over the printy head but it still will not print. Is it destined for the bin or can any of you offer a solution. If it is to be binned what would you choose as a replacement?

My HP printer gave up the ghost in similar fashiom after several years service.

Didn't really try to fix it but bought a Canon MP490 all-in-one for £50 from Argos and very pleased with it.

Depends what you want a printer for.

If you want to just print letters, the odd map off a website etc. then a laser printer (preferably colour laser) would be your best bet.

If you want to print photos. A decent Epson.

Check the cartridge prices first for what you choose.
