Deleting items from Start up programme. XP

Really embarrased to ask! How do I get to the list from which I can delete unnecessary programes at start up? Microsoft XP -have done it before but memory not good.

Either startup folder in programs list or run "msconfig" and disable there

Thank you what a service. Now going off air for another year!

you can get at it more easily through an MS utility called "Autoruns"
see Autoruns for Windows

Nice one COCL2. Thanks for the link - quite an eye-opener!

If you have CCleaner, can be done form its tools tab.

Only some items are available from there
Take a look at that Autoruns program - you'll soon see the difference

Tried Autoruns, seems to be a very useful program.

Thanks for that.
