What does it mean?
I've had 2 expired tokens today, and been slung out - required to sign in again, 3 times.
AND the time stamp fairy is playing up as this should be post 3. |
PPrune-land time has certainly gone tits up again. Bets on where /when this one appears? Posted 1348Z

What does it mean?
Wrote a contribution to a thread, hit send and got
"your token has expired go back and reload" Que? I do hate these messages that are unintelligible. Not only that - why? The Ancient Mariner |
Search function also crook?

What you've got there is a classic example of techies writing software on the straight assumption that the audience in it's entirety are also techies. A friend of mine had a website written for his business - the audience are surveyors & solicitors. The techs wrote it (at the time) optimised for Firefox because they believed it was the better browser.
My friend who knew his market well pointed out that most of his clients in the office world would just go with IE that would already be on their desktops. A row ensued & ultimately, the techies had to be got rid as these particular guys just wouldn't accept that anyone could be 'so stupid' as to actually want to use Internet exploder. Tunnel. Vision. |
Its a classic example of too much info.
It would be better if it just said "Failed, go back and reload" |
We ended up having to rewrite the whole system when he delivered it to us because of stupid assumptions based on tunnel vision. |

The problem with just having a simple messages is you end up with them being meaningless for troubleshooting. Better to have a simple message with an explanatory technical one as a second paragraph.
Otherwise you end up with "my Internet is broken" being all the information you can garner. |

A clue perhaps? However one large sites there's quite a lot of config required to optimise the database back end. |
I appreciate that due to the US holiday things can't be looked at until Monday, but will that then reset the threads and time stamp issues so that posts will appear in the correct chronological order that they were posted?
Like has been commented above (below or wherever in relation to this post ends up) the threads are becoming hard to follow as things stand. |
Time stamp fairy
It's getting to the stage where the time stamp fairy's totally screwing up threads, we're getting answers posted before the question, (I know we're good but not quite that good. :E) and the thread gets so jumbled up it becomes unreadable as it no longer makes any sense :ugh:

Reminds me of this brilliant comment from Dave Barry, on preparation for a colonoscopy :
MoviPrep is a nuclear laxative. I don't want to be too graphic, here, but: Have you ever seen a space shuttle launch? This is pretty much the MoviPrep experience, with you as the shuttle. There are times when you wish the commode had a seat belt. You spend several hours pretty much confined to the bathroom, spurting violently. You eliminate everything. And then, when you figure you must be totally empty, you have to drink another liter of MoviPrep, at which point, as far as I can tell, your bowels travel into the future and start eliminating food that you have not even eaten yet. |

Our apologies to all for the problems, I'm afraid that due to the US holiday weekend we can't get an appointment with the repair men until Monday 1500Z. Rob http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...sweetbunny.gif http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...sweetbunny.gif |

Any idea if this is related? I get it when trying to start a thread on another forum (but can obviously post here!) |

Certainly since the last major version update the problems have increased tremendously with database errors, time stamp errors, extra page numbers added to threads and running slow, also the errors are occurring more frequently
