TOM TOM GPS Problems

Can anyone help...

I recently downloaded the map section from my Tom-Tom GPS folder onto my laptop. The software makes this task quite foolproof. However, I am finding it impossible to load up a saved map from my laptop to the GPS unit. It wont allow me to do it.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

The map is locked to the individual unit you can not transfer from one tomtom device to another.
