ARrrrrrgh ....death by BIOS
Win a Kewpie doll!
Answer this.... GA-965P-S3 Unsolved Gigabyte riddle message (Non dual bios) "Award BootLock Bios v1.0. Copyright 2000, Award Software Inc. Scanning BIOS Image in Hard Drive..." Googoolyed to death and NOBODY has come up with a fix :hmm: |
Did your Google's reveal this sort of thing ?
|
Yes ta...have spent a week on googly
http://www.katzy.dsl.pipex.com/Smileys/a037.gif Why would a manufacturer remove the ability to flash a BIOS? - Gigabyte removed the usual Award BIOS “boot from floppy” recovery routine – so the “easy” recovery of creating a boot floppy is out - Every single thread I could find on this issue ended with “and I had to RMA the board” or “and we never fixed it” |
Isn't there a jumper you can set that flashes the BIOS back to default that is stored on ROM? Just a thought :)

I got a nice new programmed bios chip soldered the bugger on(SOIC SPI pretty simple job ) and away it doth run.
|
Well done that man. :ok:
|
are all gigabyte boards like that ?
if so excellent reason to look elsewhere
