W7/Access permissions/remote access

Trying to help a friend with W7 Home reinstall a wireless printer. Remote Access in and try to run install CD on her machine - "You are not an administrator".

She is and is logged in as such. . Does W7 detect my 'invasion' and block me?.

Nope, if you're in under her credentials it's the same as if you're in as her. I would firstly confirm she's an administrator of the machine (despite what you've been told!), and then right-click and 'run as administrator'.

Well, as I said she is logged in as admin. Why then, would I need to 'run as admin' if the system 'thinks' I am?

You could put a bit of tape over the pheromone detector slot. ;)

Basically W7 doesn't let you run as administrator even if you are logged in as such (good security) but it does allow you to tell it to 'Run as administrator'
