Vista file
How can I access msconfig in Vista? Or alternately, get to the Start menu to drop some of the programs that automatically start up and drain resources?
|
Click the windows start icon, in the search programs & files box at the bottom of the list, type msconfig & voila.
Alternatively click start>control panel>system & security>administrative tools>system configuration. |
Alternatively, if it's just self-starting programs you are concerned with, you can do it from within Ccleaner. (you have CC, don't you? If not, it's useful to have.)

That would be like using mole grips to turn the steering wheel on your car.

Duh. thanks. I tried it earlier but could not see a way to activate the command. So after you pointed me again, I highlighted and entered and it worked. Why do they HAVE to change things?
What is the method in W7? I might need it on Mrs Head's laptop. |
It's the same.
