Can someone help a confirmed luddite please,I have had to buy a new laptop,due to throwing a mug of cocoa over the previous gizmo,it's a compaq,pre loaded with windows 7,the thing has taken to asking me to enter the product key,when i do it comes back with"key invalid",have asked a fellow ex driver(airframe) but he was unsure,as he uses a mac,
he is of same age and jurrasic period.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Presumably you are entering the key on the sticky underneath the laptop? Should work. However, you will also be given the option to register by phone, together with a freefone number. The nice people at M$oft should be able to help.
