font style
My son gave me his old Toshiba laptop running Vista. It was not working but I managed to get it going well enough. It won't update Windows, just sits on one update and runs forever until manually shut down. Update history shows most updates as failed.
He set some flowery font and I cannot find a way to change it. All the icons etc are in that silly font and hard to read. Has anyone seen these before? |
Next door's daughter did that to her mum's PC and couldn't read the nonsense to unscramble it.
Safe mode, and picking around in the various bits of Control Panel sorted it. If there's nothing on the machine you want to keep, and if you have the Windows CDs that go with it, wipe and start again. |

It is not that old, and of course the machine did not come with discs; the OS was backed up on the HDD, so I suppose I can format and start again. But surely I can change the font used by the OS? I can change the size of the font, but not the style? My son must have made that choice when he set it up, so how did he do it? Bl**dy computers...
