AVG - false positives on Win32/Heur?
Hi folks
Recently, AVG has started popping alerts for a ton of EXEs on my system saying they're infected with Win32/Heur. I understand heuristics scanning.... Thing is, my PC seems to be bahaving normally. No obvious signs of infection. I run Ad-aware, Spybot and AVG. When these popups started, I downloaded Pareto anti-virus and scanning with that comes up clean. I could understand the odd exe throwing a false positive but these are dozens of EXEs. 1. Anything I can do to check absolutely if I have Win32/Heur? If I can't positively say no, then it's format and rebuild and I'm a vatsim user with heavily tweaked Fligh Sim installs - major pain to recreate... 2. Any idea what might be going on if it is false positives on so many files? Cheers pruners |
Looks like a known problem:
