Flash crackle & pop

Firefox 3.5, flash player10. On streaming video - You tube in the main, but any site that uses flash, videos play flawlessly in reduced sized windows, but if I switch to full screen, then I get a crackling sound, as though the audio track was coming through an old 78 player using wax cylinders!

I've seen lots of reports of the problem, but no answers. seems not to be browser related as people have reported it in IE8, so flash problem? Anyone else getting this?

Try updating your video and audio drivers... often solves problems like these.

Uninstall any codecs you might have put in lately (e.g., ffdshow pack, or any number of things you might have downloaded). Some of them are wonky. Other than that, the popping can happen from the computer lagging behind the audio bitrate.
