acessing email via Nokia 6234

Web access to my (ntlworld) email is via "webmail.ntlworld.com". The standard virgin email web page stopped working for my email address Aug 2008 due to a server re-jig. Virgin Media won't do anything about it short of giving me a brand new virgin email address and insist I use this url.

I can access my email via the web from any pc but when I try from my Nokia 6234 it returns " there is a problem with the connection please try later". I can access other wap sites OK. Questions:

(a)is there something mobile -unfriendly about sites beginning http://webmail

(b) do I need some special settings in my nokia.

BTW, the Nokia 6234 is a vodafone-specific version of the 6233. I am now on a Virgin sim-only deal.

There shouldn't be - it should simply be resolved to an IP address via DNS, irrespective of the name of the node.

But you could try entering Login instead of webmail.ntlworld.com, just to check.

Did it (your webmail) ever work before with your Nokia 6234?

I'm ex-blueyonder, and my webmail page is https://webmail.blueyonder.co.uk/ - note the use of https.

Perhaps http / https is something to investigate?
