After Vista SP2 Printer spits out characters with .pdf forms only

I'm just a home user dummy head, but so far I haven't found a solution and I REALLY need one, like YESTERDAY!
I may need to uninstall SP2 if I can't find a solution. I'm going to try and reinstall my printer software and see if it works. I found the characters a couple days ago while I was printing out a rebate form but I have to print out some 2008 income tax forms for my daughters mortgage and can't do it. :ugh:

Unplug the printer, un-install the drivers and any other printer software. Re-plug the printer and re-install everything.

Still having the same problem with HP printer? or SP2?

Uninstalled everything and reinstalled it.

Hi Sandra
Green was more or less right, except...DO NOT connect the usb cable until instructed to by the driver software when loading it.

1) Disconnect the usb lead to printer.
2) Turn printer power on.
3) Load driver software that came with printer.
4) Connect usb lead when instructed.
