MS picture and fax viewer
 

Another day another snag. I Installed a program from an old computer mag the other day, and one of the things it did was install a quick time program. Yesterday I went into "My Pictures" and instead of the usual MS picture and fax viewer, they are all coming up on a quick time picture viewer. Can anyone tell me how to get "My Pictures" to open up in MS picture and fax viewer again. I have tried to delete the Qtime files and the progam I installed, searched through the drop down menus, and tried the complete idiots guide to XP with no joy.

In Explorer, select

'Tools'
'Folder Options'
'File Types'

Then run down to where the file types you are interested in are, and you can change them to open with whatever program you like.

IIRC if you delete their entry, next time you try to open them, they will ask you what program to use, select it and click 'remember'.
