I have the above and only wish to use it simply to take movie recordings off tv and edit out the adverts before transferring to dvd for a movie library.

I run it on a desktop with an AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+ processor @ 2.0 GHz with 1 Gb of RAM (also on a Dell XPS 1330 laptop with 2Gb RAM) but they both seem to take ages to process the changes.

Am I expecting too much of this 3-4 year old desktop?

Anyone with any suggestions?

I believe the motherboard on the desktop to be limited in its RAM upgrade potential.
