Spell Checker
Having bought myself a new computer, I installed Windows XP, SP3 and Office 2007. Everthing went OK.
When I configured the spell checker in outlook express(tools - options - spelling), the default language is FRENCH!!!!! and cannot be changed:confused: Therefore when I send e-mails the spell checker wants me to change every word to French. Does anybody know how to correct this situation? Apart from this problem both Windows and Office are behaving impeccably! Regards, CC |
Have a look at your region settings, and make sure that you have set them for an english speaking country, (Not US of A but):uhoh::uhoh:
That may fix it for you. |
Quand tu dit - sorry, when you say 'cannot be changed', why? are the options greyed out or what?

There are no other options except French! All other settings in Office 2007 and all other settings I can find are set to English(UK). I am at a loss as to how to proceed. I'll have another search and see if there is anything I've missed. CC |
You say 'when I configured....in Outlook Express', do you mean Outlook? If you've changed one but not the one you're using, that may be the reason (if you see what I mean!).

I mean 'Outlook Express' I don't have 'Outlook' installed.
I have just gone through all the settings(that I can find) and everything is set to English(uk). Any other ideas? CC |
What have you set in Control Panel \ Regional and Language Options?
Check all the tabs! Forgot to mention - you can uninstall and re-install OE to see if that helps. SD |
