JPGs from PS Elements

When I work on a Jpeg with PS Elements, it saves it as a Photoshop pic and not as a Jpeg.

Is there any way to continue saving it as a Jpeg?

Ta muchly in advance!

Because jpeg is a lossy algorithm, you will lose a little bit of quality each time you save it. You should save in Photoshop's non-lossy format until the final image, then save as the photoshop format plus jpeg.

At the bottom of the 'save as' box it gives you a drop down menu for you to select the format which you wish to save the file as.
