Australian place names database

Does anybody know where to get a database of Australian Towns, Airports etc. suitable for inclusion in a flight planner running under Excel? I want to enter two Identifiers and have it check the database and return magnetic track and distance values.

Thanx in advance, 2Dogs

There is a list of towns/suburbs and postcodes available in csv format available at the Australia Post website.

Thanks for that, but not quite what I was looking for. I need a database (preferably aviation) either in .csv or .mdb format, with Lat and Long as field entries in each record. From the Lat and Long, it is possible to derive track and distance information for a flight planner I have built in Excel.

2Dogs, I'm not sure this will give you everything you need: Lats and Longs are given only as far as minutes, not seconds, but it might be worth a try.

Sheesh, three lines and I had to edit it.
