Slow Internet Explorer Log-on

Greetings!

I normally reside over on Military Pilots but am hoping to tap into the 'big-brains' on Computers/Internet.

I have changed my main computer to a faster Celeron 466 with V90 modem (old computer 266 MMX with PCMIA modem)

Once on-line my download times are much faster. My problem is that 'verifying username/password' is done twice :

verifying username/password
verifying username/password

and takes 2-3 minutes to authenticate. Any ideas as how to speed things up. My ISP is the same, as is my username, password and contact telephone number?

If you go to the Properties for the connection causing the trouble, in the advanced section you can uncheck the box for "Log on to network".

This is likely to be the root of your trouble.
