I,ve just bought an Apple iMax, and now find that I can't
bring up the "Smilies" on any messages I send.
I click on the smilie, but I get a written version, e.g. Sad
or Bah. I'm only semi computer literate.
Where am I going wrong, or is it my new computer?
This is an example of what I get. :{:*:(:ok:. No smilie!

Buggah me!!! The smilies came up on the message I sent to you.
But NOT when I do other posts.
Am I losing the plot somewhere?

It could be your web browser. Have you got JavaScript enabled. It will be somewhere under settings.

Using the standard text editor, the smilies appear as text in the message box. To see the smilies as they will appear in the final post, use the Preview Post button below.

Note that this is also true of bold, italic, colour etc. - you will only see the "tags" in the message box, but the desired effect will appear in the Preview or the final post.

You could also try using the enhanced WYSIWYG editor (user CP, Edit Options).
