My basic understanding of cookies is that they are little "text" style files which allow sites like Pprune to remember who I am.

But can anyone tell me why a site like Yell.com needs to put 169 cookies on my machine for 10 minutes of searching? In contrast google.com put 9 cookies on my machine in the same time for the same amount of searching.
