CD-RW Blues!
 

Help! I'm virtually computer illiterate!

I had a CDRW thingy fitted prior to leaving UK.

Sad to say it ain't working! The drawer will not stay closed with or without a CD in it.

I taken it out, put it back in! I've removed & reinstalled the drivers!

But alas to no avail! Whenever power is on the bl*ody thing is always open!

Any ideas gratefully received!

Eeeek - sounds a bit strange...Not come across this kind of thing before, but sounds like a problem that drivers etc... won't fix. Give the store a ring! :)

sounds more like a mechanical problem than a software one to me. It will still be under guarantee so ring the store and see if they have a local branch.

Did they install it for you? if not make sure you dont take any crap from them about guarantee only being valid if installed by a qualified person, it's a pile of crap salesmen use to get out of doing an exchange (I promise I never used to say things like that honest <img src="rolleyes.gif" border="0"> )
