Can I set the defaults in Word 2000?
I just lurve straight lines - and I like to see them at the right hand edge of any paragraph of text that I write.
I use Word 2000 (though I guess they are all the same creature, at heart) and would dearly like to see the DEFAULT JUSTIFICATION be fully justified - not left hand justified. Can you guys tell me the button clicks (again)? ------------------ Hunting is bad!! Support the right to arm Bears!! |
Go to ,..Format, Paragraph…” Indents and Spacing” tab and use the drop down list from the “Alignment” box to select your preference.
That should set you straight! :) |
Did that Sprocket...but it only works on the current document.
Being an idle/forgetful git (delete as appropriate) I would like it to justify and stay that way forever. ------------------ Hunting is bad!! Support the right to arm Bears!! |
Don't think you can do that!
The MS default is set like that. So, spose you didn't want to justify, you would have to do it in reverse! Gotta start somewhere. However, you CAN have a standard page setup as you want. Save it and then make a shortcut on your desktop. Click, and it goes straight there, and you are a happy bunny. |
You have never seen a bunny happier (at least one without carrots!).

Hi Bear Cub
Honestly I am not a know it all - just want to be helpful. This refers to Word 97, haven't got around to upgrading yet, but I imagine that this aspect hasn't changed. When you create a new document in WORD it uses a style template called "normal". You may see it on the toolbar next to the font that the style is using. To change any of the attributes of this style do the following. Open Word Select FORMAT - Style... Normal should be selected automatically in the the window that opens from the list on the left of the window. Click MODIFY Then Click on FORMAT - a drop down list appears Select PARAGRAPH Under the indents and spacing tab Select the alignment you want - Justified Then click on OK Select the tick box ADD TO TEMPLATE Then click OK Then click Apply Close word, it may ask you to save changes to document 1, say no. Then fire word up again and hey presto it will default to justified. You can then use the same process to change any of the attributes to the normal style, font, tabs, size etc. Sad bast*&^ for an ATCO I am. Mmmmmm |
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm - you may not be a "know it all" but you are a "know enough".
I'm an even happier bunny now. Thanks guys. Must use this computer more often so that I can come up with more questions. ------------------ Hunting is bad!! Support the right to arm Bears!! |
