EXCEL query
Having managed to get new puter up and running I put Office 2000 on it as I couldn't get on with Works Suite which came bundled with it.
Now whenever I click on EXCEL it displays correctly then shuts itself down after about 5-10 seconds. Have done all the usual stuff like uninstalling Worksuite completely and the same with Office 2000. Driving me nuts and I can't seem to find anything on the web that refers to this snag. Any Guru's out there with any ideas? regds B17 PLT |
I did a search on the microsoft knowledge base and came up with several things the link below will take you to the search page.
Try doing a search for terminating as well as quit and see what it comes up with Hope it helps http://search.support.microsoft.com/...N-US&spr=xlw2k |
Possibly a registry key that has not been updated properly. Perhaps uninstall everything again and load the Office 2000 again (and not the Works).
Other than that... not sure! |
Thanx SLF for your input...wading my way through it all!
Thanx Springbokkie...tried all your ideas but no joy |
If you have installed Office 2000 from a "non-legal" copy, then installing other products such as Mircrosft Project 2000, WIndows 2000 service pack, Ofiice 2000 service pack will cause this to happen.
Microsoft have built in an anti-piracy check. There is a way round it on one of the Mircosoft tech articles - can find it if you need it. |
