ICAO Four Letter Codes
Hello
Can anyone tell me about any web site where I can decode the 4 letter ICAO codes. I work in reservations where we use the three letter IATA codes which often have no relation to the ICAO codes. Is there any site which gives me the info? TK |
Try typing "4 letter ICAO codes" into a search engine!

This is quite a good one - it gives all the airport details an aviator could want as well.

I am unable to find any details of an ICAO code for Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia in any of the above sites. Does anyone have any details of the place? I know that Lufthansa fly there about twice a week from Frankfurt so any Lufthansa crews reading this care to share their observations, please? Thank you, TTT.

This it ?
Name: Strigino IATA: GOJ ICAO: UWGG Novgorod, Russia Latitude: 56° 13' N Longitude: 43° 47' E Elevation: 256 |
Yep, that's it! Thank you PaperTiger. That is all sorted now. In Soviet times the place was called Gorky and if I remember rightly it was a closed city for people from the West? Some scholarly types like writers, social commentators and the like who did not toe the party line were sent there as a form of internal exile. Of course when Gorby and the internet came along the game was up! Have you been there by any chance? There is a small possibility I may have a chance to go there soon so here's hoping! Thank you, TTT.
