Freebies Part II
Hey Dudes,
It's been a long time since anyone recommended computer freebies, so your votes please below for 'must have' software that's free :) |
OK, I know you're pilot's, so I'll give you an example:-
Zone alarm (firewall). Excellent protection for FREE. Go to http://www.zonelabs.com/ See, it's not too difficult is it. Come on chaps, there must be programmes you use that you can recommend! It is Xmas :) |
I like this little baby, for controlling your startup.

Thanks BS & P. The remainder? God you lot are boring.
As a pilot, I know you prefer to get something for nothing, so here's another; <a href="http://www.danish-shareware.dk/soft/emptemp/index.html" target="_blank">http://www.danish-shareware.dk/soft/emptemp/index.html</a> A great temp folders cleaner. More please, which means - CONTRIBUTE! <img src="smile.gif" border="0"> [ 20 December 2001: Message edited by: Mo Heekan ]</p> |
Top vote goes to Irfanview <a href="http://www.irfanview.com/" target="_blank">http://www.irfanview.com/</a> for viewing images in just about any format.
Mario Knok's IconSaver saves/restores Desktop icon positions (look for it with Google) eCleaner by Steve Chin is good for clearing the HTML out of Web pages (ditto). Good thread - several more haunt my machine that are invaluable every once in a while - I'll try and get them together. Cheers |
Free:
Firewall: ZoneAlarm MP3 player: WinAmp Pic viewer/converter: Irfan Viewer Partition manager 1: Ranish Partition manager (FDisk replacement) Partition manager 2: Disk Drake (Mandrake Linux) Partition manager 3: Partition Magic Windows tweaks: TweakUI Newsgroups: Free Agent Bundled with an old laptop: Cable connection/file transfer: TranXit (can self install on a target machine down a serial cable) Probably a stack of others I've stored but I'm using a spare HD while I wait for a warranty replacement for my failed primary HD. |

Oops! My error.
That was meant to be in the 'Bundled' category. I got it with a computer or Windows tome published by Que (or whoever). |
