My internet explorer 5
I have a problem where I can connect to the net but Internet explorer refuses to show any pages and I recieve the error ' this page could not be displayed' blah blah blah.
Does anyone know how I can get around this fault or if you can reinstall explorer. Explorer was already on my pc when i bought it. Help!! |
Why not forget about IE5 and go to IE6 ?
It is only a short download from here. .<a href="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/ie6/default.asp" target="_blank">http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/ie6/default.asp</a> |
Have a look at the thread on Blank Pop up Windows, maybe this could help you too.

There is a repair option.
If you go into Start; Settings; Control Panel; Add/Remove Programs. Highlight IE and select remove. (Don't worry, it won't). This will open up another screen which will give you three options, one of which is repair. Select repair OK, and let it do its thing! You may need your Windows or computer manufacturers recovery disk for the repair to complete. It just depends on what is wrong! |
I had this very problem yesterday. I eventually tracked it down to my firewall (Zone Alarm) denying access to the internet. Changing the settings restored internet pages.
