Anyone tried Opera 6 beta?

Just downloaded Opera 6 (beta version) install.exe but Im too sh!t-scared to activate it and install the browser in case something crashes or screws up.

Anyone used it yet? Any benefits over the trusty 5.11?

Thanks.

I can only speak of the Mac version these days Slash.

Only problem I've found is sometimes losing a long post while I'm still typing in the dialogue box. It is actually still there so I hit the submit button then suck it back in using the edit icon.

You already know the advantages in comparison to the main two bits of bloatware. Still recommended for faster browsing.

Regards
Rob

I'm using it at the moment and I *really like it!*
Hugely better than the other two in just about every way, especially speed.

Been using it on Win2K, so far it seems very stable and fast.

Yeh thanks guys. Aisleman thats exactley the kind of thing Im bloodey scared of! But I still have the 5.11 setup file so I can always re-install it if the 6-beta version gives trouble.

Slasher

Why don't you wait for the Beta testing to finish and download and install the finished product?

That's what I am going to do having used Opera from the early 3 version, through 4 and 5. It's very impressive.

Opera state that the Beta version may cause systems to crash.

Slash

I've been using the full, not Beta Opera 6 for a few days. It seems well behaved and stable.

Go for it.
