This guy Steve Gibson has a very useful site, gives out lots of useful advice regarding "firewalls" and doesn't blind you with sceince. I took his advice and downloaded ZoneAlarm. (got it from zdnet.com)

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Best of all, its all freeware.

If you value your security and privacy give it a look.

I can attest to and agree with the comments. Anybody worried about the security of their PC on the WWW should at least visit GRC.COM and check things out. I have also used ZoneAlarm, and found it very useful at blocking at least one genuine attack.
