Modem Noise.

I have recently downloaded Explorer 6 from the MS Homepage. Since then I get a loud continual background modem noise. I have tried all the obvious things but cannot stop the noise. Help!! Thanks.

Background noise?, what do you mean? - do you mean the modem is on during the Internet Connection?
