Office 2007 question – Outlook Explorer and password-protected Word docx.

I have a strange problem. Running WinXP, Explorer 6 and Office 2007; if ever I have a password-protected Word docx opened, Internet Explorer won’t open. No problem with Explorer with one or more unprotected Word docx opened.

Is this a known problem, and if so, is there a fix for it?

It sounds like the sort of thing that MS fail to find in testing.

For example, there's a KB article entitled:

"Security-related Group Policy settings in the 2007 Office system do not work as expected"

You might find the answer on the MS site - or get some information from one of their forums. Or even be the first to report that particular bug!
