How do I stop Windows Media Centre?
 

I have a HP TouchSmart PC which has an annoying habit of starting Windows Media Centre for no apparent reason. It is not associated with using a particular programme, for example could just have the computer on in the background whilst watching TV and 'hey presto - I am going to give you Media Centre'.:ugh:

I have tried to disassociate it from any media programmes, removed the batteries from the PC remote control. I have even tried taping over the remote control sensor on the computer.

Anyone have any ideas what causes this and a solution?

Open media centre, go to settings, general settings & disable start media centre when pc starts. If it happens randomly, then look at http://thegreenbutton.com/default.aspx and search there, other remote controls with similar IR codes can fire it up.
