Vista User Access Control
I'm using Vista Home Premium and I have been 'tricked' into allocating Administrator rights to my Mozilla Firefox browser (Windows suggested that there was a problem which required this).
Whilst I am the Administrator it's a pain having to authorise each and every time I want to open a new browser window. I've fiddled around with permissions, and have assigned ownership to myself as User (as well as 'SYSTEM'), but it still requires authorisation (when I deleted the listed owners the programme wouldn't open as nobody had permission to approve opening . . . ) What I want to do is cancel this facility so that access to Firefox is freely available, but I cannot see any way to cancel/delete 'ownership'. Can you help? |
Sorry, I can't help, but you've got to see the funny side of that!
Perhaps it's fortunate it didn't give the rights to IE. Sounds like another reason to avoid Vista. Good luck. |
Control Panel>User Accounts>User Accounts (again - it's vista after all:rolleyes:)>Turn on/off user account control.
That oughta do yer. |
