I'm thinking of buying a a desktop PC with a fast spec (RAM/Graphics) at Pantip on an upcoming BKK layover.
Couple of questions: Firstly, am I likely to be buying a dog with no comeback and secondly, will I save money from Europe or UAE??
Any info would be appreciated.

Almost - a lot of the big names are represented here and most come with international guarantees. The thing to be careful of is sometimes the operating system is not genuine. I am living here so tend not to do price comparisons.
You may also want to consider having one custom made to your specs. and it my work out cheaper than off-the-peg. The down-side is that the parts will only be guaranteed for 12 months in-country.
How long is your lay-over? Pantip is a big place!
